Two stage unlocking



Possible on all Mk3 cars and some of the later model Mk2 cars with the 3 button remote, this method allows the drivers door to be unlocked on its own with the rest of the doors remaining locked unless the fob's unlock button is pressed a second time. You can switch between modes at any time by following these instructions:

With both lock and unlock buttons depressed at the same time, wait until the indicator lights flash once. When complete two stage unlocking will be activated / deactivated accordingly.



Auto hi-jack turn on



Your Mk3 Mondeo can be set up so that the doors will be locked automatically when you drive off and exceed certain speed (5-10 mph) or reverse away.
Method
Turn on the ignition to position II so all the dash lights come on but don't start the engine.
Using the button on the door handle, lock and unlock the door 3 times (don't open the door).
Turn off the ignition.
Turn on the ignition to position I.
Using the button on the door handle, lock and unlock the door 3 times (don't open the door).
Turn off the ignition.
Turn on the ignition to position II but dont start the engine - a beep will sound.
Lock and unlock the door once as before - a confirmation beep will sound.
This feature will be operational until you repeat the above steps to switch it off.

NB. It will only work once for each time the car is started though. In other words, if you unlock the doors to let someone in or out without turning the engine off, they will not automatically lock when you move away again.

Seat belt Warning chime off/on



Deactivating/Activating
1 Turn the ignition switch to position II. (Do not start the engine).



2.Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off. (Approximately one to two minutes).



Note:Steps 3 through 5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.



3.Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled.



4.Turn the headlamps ON then OFF.



5.Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times ending with the safety belt unbuckled. After this step the safety belt warning indicator will be illuminated for three seconds.



6.Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning indicator turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt. This will enable the belt minder if disabled or disable belt minder if enabled.



7.The following sequence will confirm the belt minder is enabled:



the safety belt warning indicator flashes four times per second for three seconds.
three seconds with the safety belt warning indicator off.
the safety belt warning indicator flashes four times per second for three seconds again.


8.The safety belt warning indicator flashing four times per second for three seconds provides confirmation of belt minder disabled.



9.After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.





How to Change Mk3 Climate from Farenheit to Celcius



To change from °C to °F Press and + Fan Button the - Fan Button and Recirculate Air Button for 2 Seconds

Self-Diagnostic Mode



To enter the instrument cluster Self-Diagnostic Mode simultaneously press and hold the tripmeter reset button and turn the ignition switch to position II.



When TEST is displayed in the LCD release the tripmeter reset button



The instrument cluster will enter the gauge sweep test.



To navigate through or skip any of the instrument cluster Self-Diagnostic Mode tests press the tripmeter RESET button.



The self-test is deactivated when the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position or when the tripmeter reset button is pressed and held for 5 seconds.



If Self-Diagnostic Mode cannot be accessed use WDS to diagnose instrument cluster.

Additional tests are available after the following but are not applicable for this diagnostic.

Remote window open/close
Mondeo Mk3 has a handy but not very well known feature - you can open and close all the windows by using the remote key.

Method
To open all the windows, press and hold the unlock button
To close all the windows, press and hold the lock button
If you are unable to close the windows by remote, you probably need to set the fully closed position:

Open the window
Fully close it using driver's window control
Press and hold up button for 5 seconds
The fully closed position has now been set. Repeat the above steps for all windows.

NB. This needs to be done every time you disconnect the car's battery.



One Touch Window Reset

Whenever you disconnect your battery on your Mk3 Mondeo, your one-touch electric windows will need resetting.

Method
To reset the windows, follow these steps:

Hold the switch down until the window is all the way down
Release the switch then hold down again for 5 seconds
Press the switch so the window goes all the way up
Release the switch and press it up, again for 5 seconds
The window will now be set for one touch and global opening/closing. Repeat this procedure for each individual window
